Since 1960 Nigerians from all generations have been suffering at the hands of the corrupt government politicians put in a position of power that was set to protect me and my fellow citizens. In the year 2020, the #ENDSARS movement brought to light how broken the country had become. In one protest SARS soldiers came out of nowhere and started abusing the protesters of Nigeria, video footage shows SARS soldiers shooting and killing protesters in lekki (city) two gates. During this ongoing battle, it was discovered that politicians were hiding money in abandoned warehouses and closets inside their houses instead of putting this money towards their country’s suffering marketplace. Since being exposed to their lies politicians are now afraid for their lives because the younger protesters and pretty much everyone is coming after them. Politicians have been called out for sponsoring their children abroad to receive better education and life while using the Nigerian money that was supposed to be used towards Nigerian Citizens. Another detail that has come up about politicians regarding money embezzlement is the recent report that not only are politicians using this money towards their children’s schooling. While also providing their children and family members with bodyguards and around 1.5 million dollars in each of their family's bank accounts. So when the Nigerian citizens and the economy were fighting to stay afoot, those they trusted were betraying them worse and worse every passing day. Thankfully the people of Nigeria will not give up and continue to use their voices to change their country’s fate and right the wrongs of their corrupted system.
